Last week Deloitte released its annual technology, media, and telecommunications predictions last week had some news for the industry- it expects 130 million e-bikes will be sold worldwide in the next three years. The report also included that they expect that e-bikes will outsell electric cars in the next decade.
This enormous shift in sales is due to the interest in commuting without having to buy a second car. Indeed, Deloitte predicts a 1 percentage rise in the proportion of people who bike to work from 2019 to 2022. . Tens of billions of additional bicycle rides per year means fewer car trips and lower emissions, with spillover benefits for traffic congestion and urban air quality.
If infrastructure in roads and transport, and information regarding EV and e-bikes becomes more readily available- this acceleration could be faster than even the experts predict!
